Kwame Adum-Kyeremeh

Head of the Department of History University of Ghana

Kwame is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of History, University of Ghana, Legon. He holds BA, M.Phil and PhD degrees (History) from the University of Ghana. He has participated in many national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. He has granted a number of interviews on radio, films and TV programmes on historical topics. He has supported the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), as writer and reviewer of the History Curricula for Senior High Schools and Colleges of Education in Ghana. His research interests have taken him to national and international archives and libraries, including the University of Rochester library in New York and the Ghana national and some regional archives. He has also participated in national and academic research works in towns and villages across Ghana to collect important data for the Institute for Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), the Parliament of Ghana, the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), the National Reconciliation Commission of Ghana and the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) among other reputable organizations. His specific ongoing research projects include the Basel Mission Heritage in the Gold Coast project, Trade Unionism in Ghana project, and the Slavery and Slave Trade in Ghana project.
