Xu Lei,  wrote her PhD in English Language and Literature at Nanjing University  at the English Department, Foreign Studies School and is now Professor of English Literature. Her current research interest lies in the revival of Victorian life and arts, especially its global impact on contemporary literature. What intrigues her most is how Victorian people and their society continue to haunt creative minds today and reaffirm our conception of ourselves in the twenty-first century.
